Chow Down on the Best Salads Around Carbondale

Did you know that the word salad comes from the Latin “herba salta” or “salted herbs?” The term arose because lettuce was once seasoned with salty dressing. Today, we have tons of choice from vinaigrettes to ranch and more.  If you’re searching for the best salads around Carbondale, you’re in luck. Here are a few of our favorites!

Where to Find the Best Salads Around Carbondale

Charley Watkins opened the first O’Charley’s in Nashville in 1971. He created a menu using his wife’s recipes and believed that everyone who walked through the doors was his friend. Today, there are locations in seventeen states, and all offer a comfortable, inviting setting. In keeping with traditional Southern hospitality, the food portions are large, and salads include Cobb, steakhouse wedge, and Southern fried chicken.

Huddle House

When John Sparks decided to open a restaurant, he knew that it needed a catchy name. As he drove through Decatur, Georgia one evening, he saw a group of football players in a huddle, talking and laughing. It was then that he decided Huddle House would be the perfect name for a destination where friends could gather for delicious food and a fun time. The service is always friendly, and salads include chef and crispy chicken.

Quatro’s Deep Pan Pizza

Quatro’s was established in the mid-1970s after four friends opened a pizzeria in a former bakery. They had no restaurant experience, and within a year, they were going bankrupt. An eager college student purchased the business as well as the space next door to expand the dining room. Now, the eatery has a four-star rating on Yelp and guests appreciate the attentive service and quality meals. Salads include Caesar, vegetarian chef, and chicken salad.
